Project description
In a digital encyclopedia project, students create web pages to communicate information that demonstrates their understanding of an academic concept. In the sample Animal Kingdom Digital Encyclopedia illustrated in this guide, students begin by gathering information and images about animals. Then they use Adobe Contribute CS3 to add text, links, and images to a page in the class website. Project activities enable students to apply technology and communication skills as they learn to build the website pages.

You can easily adapt the sample project to build digital encyclopedias on a variety of topics, such as a collection of original stories or poems, a catalog of important figures through history, or information about the local community. The project can also be adapted to a variety of grade levels and student experience with technology.
