Abundant Resources in NECC Ning

NECC is hosting a Ning, a social networking site designed to inform educators about the conference and to provide an experience with this web 2.0 technology. It is also intended to help like-minded participants connect with each other and to extend the conference.

Participants are seeking questions for their sessions, last minute room shares, requests for help with RSS, San Antonio dining advice, a video tutorial on authorSTREAM, a free power point presentation platform, and numerous other issues and resources.

To begin, dive into the homepage and browse. Click on "groups" in the top bar for 21st century skills, Google in Education, Online PD and Communities of Practice, the Games and Simulations Playground and other discussions among educators using vibrant technologies in their classrooms.

About Us

Beyond the basics, students will need 21st century competencies to survive and thrive in the future. They will have to know how to think critically, apply knowledge to new situations, analyze information, understand new ideas, communicate effectively, collaborate, solve problems, and make decisions. School districts are looking for ways to help students acquire these new skills while they also address NCLB mandates.

This 21st Century Connections site links students, teachers and administrators to the latest resources, creative tools and educational leaders behind digital learning. Provided by Lenovo, Adobe, Intel and Futurekids, the site is hosted by Technology & Learning, NewBay Media.
